NMR Studies
ResLab is the world leader for the provision of Nuclear Magnetic
Resonance (NMR) studies, within the Oil & Gas sector. NMR laboratory
tests provide our clients with significantly enhanced reservoir definition in
terms of pore size, pore size distribution, vertical permeability variation in
the well bore, and vertical reservoir compartmentalisation based on permeability
criteria. We therefore offer our clients data to achieve more accurate
permeability prediction models and ultimately enhanced reservoir volume
definition and flow predictions, by integration with existing petrophysical
and geological data.
Advanced Reservoir Studies
Today, ResLab has probably the highest capacity commercial laboratory for
performance of reservoir condition studies. Our equipment design and
manufacture allows all of our reservoir condition rigs to be highly flexible
and adaptable. These systems are continually being assessed to ascertain
areas of improvement, in order to provide the most accurate reservoir conditions
data possible.
Formation Damage Studies
Solutions for Increasing Production
ResLab adopts a multidisciplinary approach within Formation Damage, utilising
geologists, petrophysicists and reservoir engineers to provide a complete
service from test design and construction, to damage mechanism
identification and interpretation. We continue to direct our research
towards providing solutions to the problems that well fluids cause to reservoir
productivity.

- Fines migration tests
- Dynamic filration tests
- Solids / filtrate invasion depth tests
Rock Mechanics
Linking rock mechanics and core analysis puts ResLab in a unique position
as a service supplier. This relates the parameters affecting underground
stresses, rock deformation and reservoir performance. The integrated data
is crucial for well and reservoir engineering, providing our clients with further
information to optimise their present and future production operations.
PVT Analysis
The trend away from outright exploration orientated new ventures, towards
a preference for EOR production ventures within the E & P companies
brings added importance to the analysis of reservoir fluids within the service
sector. In 1999, ResLab established our world-class PVT laboratory
in anticipation of increasing demand for fluid analysis. The PVT laboratory
is now complimented with our offshore sampling capability, providing our
clients with a comprehensive reservoir fluids service.
Storage Services
ResLab has pioneered the commercial development of high capacity storage
services for the E & P companies from its facilities in Norway. Within
the ResLab storage facility in Stavanger, alone, we handle and store more
than 250,000 meters of core for the E & P companies on a day-to-day
basis. We have already exported these storage services to the Middle East
and Latin America in recent years and we will continue to commit to servicing
international markets locally, according to requests from our clients.
Research and Development
ResLab is dedicated towards providing its customers with the highest possible
level of service, which fuels our desire to meet the present and future
technical challenges. ResLab is actively pursuing Research and
Development across all of its technical divisions in our continuing effort to
maintain our position as a leading provider of rock and fluid analytical services.
