Rock & Fluid Sampling, sample preservation and sample analysis - A comprehensive, high quality wellsite service from ResLab
Wellsite Services
ResLab has always been at the forefront of research
and development for wellsite services and equipment.
Our Gypsum Core Protection method and our Core
Transportation System have set new standards for the
quality of core protection at the wellsite.
After core protection on the rig floor, the ResLab Core
Transportation system provides safe transit of materials
to the laboratory, to ensure that the petrophysical characteristics
of the cored rocks are fully preserved
during transit.
More recently, ResLab Sampling A.S. has developed a
reservoir fluid sampling and analytical capability at the
wellsite. Several fully equipped wellsite units are now
available for our clients, as the demand for this service
continues to grow.
ResLab will continue to develop wellsite capabilities,
as client expectation for real-time or near real-time data
becomes more widespread. We look forward to further
growth in the range of our wellsite services over
the coming years.
ResLab Core Handling Services
The following services and equipment are supplied to our clients,
together with experiences personnel, to ensure that the highest
quality core handling services are supplied from ResLab:
Gyspsum Core Protection
Core resination with epoxy resin
Reslab Core Transportation System
Wellsite Core Analysis Services
ResLab pays particular attention to detail when discussing the coring
and core analysis work programme with our clients. These early discussions
are paramount when planning core analysis services at the
wellsite, particularly in climatically hostile environments. ResLab will
make recommendations, from our experience, about the benefits and
potential problems of performing certain core analysis tests at the wellsite,
to enable the client to make fully informed decisions about the
wellsite testing programme. A selection of wellsite analysis that can be
performed include:
Tracer analysis
Core gamma logging
Core plugging and sample preservation
Sedimentological core description
Core fracture logging

Wellsite Fluid Analysis Services
Reservoir Fluid Analysis (RFA)
Fluid samples are analysed using our Reservoir Fluid Analysis (RFA) onsite Laboratory container.
The 20 foot laboratory unit is fully pressurized and comes complete with lab benches, air
conditioning, and analytical equipment to enable the following PVT measurements to be performed
at the wellsite.
Molecular composition of oil and gas by gas chromatography
Molecular weight determination
Bubble point pressure at ambient and elevated temperature
Density of fluid at ambient and elevated pressures and temperatures
Flash of sample and GOR measurement
Reservoir fluid composition
PVT simulation may also be performed at the wellsite using PVTsim. More extensive PVT analysis
may be provided in remote onshore locations or in our PVT Laboratory in Norway.
Gas Analysis
The following measurements may be performed at the wellsite on samples of produced gas:
